Ok, so this is a little mean, but really funny… Max loves Halloween (maybe even more than Christmas). He has been wanting to go to a Haunted House, but I was really worried he wasn’t old enough. We went to this little Haunted House here in Oak Ridge and Max, big and brave, went through it. Actually it wasn’t very scary, just a bunch of dark rooms. A few people tried to grab us and they threw peanut shells on us in the dark pretending they were spiders. When we came out, he was MAD. He never cried and made it all the way through the Haunted House, but boy did it irritate him. Just see his reaction in this video. I laugh and laugh at this, but maybe it’s only funny to me.
Okay, so after that cruel video, here is a sweeter video of him singing “Ghostbusters” song in the car…This is my sweet boy, growing up.
I took Max fishing at a little pond in the back of our neighborhood. He brought along Blake, one of his buddies that lives next door. Christy packed us PB&J sandwiches, Moon Pies, and drinks. Life doesn’t get much better than a day with your son fishing. Very Sweet Video…
Max played an early football game today and his Oak Ridge Wildcats beat Rockwood. I think that puts his team at the top of his division. He got to play a lot today. Every game he gets a little better.
After the game he and I went to the UT vs UGA game at Neyland Stadium. We had a blast. Here are a couple of videos from our day:
I decided to get up and take Max fishing today. First, we made pancakes and bacon for Breakfast, then we headed to Wal-Mart. We don’t own any fishing gear. I bought a cheap rod and then Max picked out a Transformer Rod. I didn’t realize it was more toy than real rod, but oh well. We picked up our worms and a small tackle kit and headed straight for the lake.
Of course, I forgot my Camera. so I have no pictures to prove any of this. I guess you are not a very good blogger if you don’t take pictures of everything. In the end, we caught one little 8 in Brim Fish. Max actually caught it on his transformer reel. We had fun, so that is all that matters. Maybe we will try again next weekend.
I just had a fun family Saturday today. We had an away Football game with Max. We drove to Kingston to play the Kingston Yellowjackets. Max did really good, it was one of his better games. He is finally starting to figure out where to go and how to behave. He still has a long way to go to get competitive, but I am proud of him for how far he has come these last six weeks.
After the game, we went and walked around the Kingston Country Fair…needless to say I don’t think we need to do that again. I never thought I would see Appalachian Gypsies running a traveling circus. After that experience we decided to go get high class and went to the Japanese East for some good Sushi for lunch. Then we bought some high dollar hamburger patties from a gourmet supermarket. We plan to have an “indoor” tailgate tonight and watch the Tennessee vs Auburn game. All-in-all, I had a great Saturday just hanging out with the family.
So, I am a sucker for new things and good marketing. I picked up a package of Starbucks latest invention…instant coffee. I tried it this morning for the first time. Actually, it is pretty good. I think fresh brewed is still a little better, but I could definitely drink this. I see this being great for travel or camping. I’ll probably by a 12 pack and just keep it around the house for emergencies.
Fall TV is here… I really like TV. I know it is a mindless activity and I should spend my free time reading philosophy or learning a foreign language, but I find it relaxing to just veg in front of the TV with something totally brainless…kinda like HEROS.
Check it out on Hulu . . .
Today I added the Stocks Plug-in Sidebar to the page. You can get it for wordpress here. Eventually I want to add a whole page to the site that tracks my stocks for everyone to follow, but this will have to suffice for today. You can see that these are the stocks that I am currently following. One small step at a time for my fledgling little Blog.
I am going to start a blog…why? Because I can… I enjoy computers and learning new stuff and I have a great life, full of fun things, so this will be a place that I can combine them and document everything. Now, a word about wordpress. My wife uses Blogger (check out beachbrights.blogspot.com), and I have watched her learn all these neat and new web tricks. I decided she was getting too far ahead of me in this web stuff, so I will play with self-hosting on wordpress to learn something new.
I don’t know what I will be Blogging about, but here are the things that are most important to me right now…
1) Family (Max and Christy are my life, so I will talk a lot about them. )

2) Work (I spend a lot of time there, so the subject will probably come up.)
3) Investing (I like the stock market, so follow my investing logic.)
4) Geek Stuff (Computers, Blogs, Gadgets, Games, Movies, etc…)

From there, I will just let this Blog evolve and see where it takes me.
This is my first post on this blog. I used this as an opportunity to learn wordpress and how to host my own blog. I like this picture, so I think I will keep it as reminder of how this blog got started.
